The drawn quality
Our stick and Christmas tree candles are pulled on a pulling machine in accordance with old craft traditions. In this method, the wicks are wound onto a drum and continuously pulled through a wax bath by rotation. A candle strand is created layer by layer until it has reached the desired thickness. Candle drawing still produces the best quality candles today. The air between the individual layers of wax promotes an even distribution of heat, which results in a beautiful burning bowl and prevents the wax from running out. Even though the machines today are powered by motors: The method of candle making is still traditional.

Our family business has a long tradition of producing candles. The name Hongler appears in the account book of the parish of Berneck as early as 1703. Today, we work in Altstätten SG with a dedicated team of 30 employees. Our customers appreciate the personal advice on the phone and the fast parcel delivery service. Many products are also available from stock in the spacious candle shop in Altstätten SG with 400 m2 of exhibition space.

Hongler Scented candles in apothecary jars
Together with Theo Schulthess, we have created our own collection of scented candles with our favourite fragrances: blackcurrant, Swiss stone pine, ginger twist, blood orange, ylang myhrre and white oud - these fragrant candles in a simple apothecary jar are ideal as a small gift. The candles are poured by hand from a purely vegetable rapeseed coconut wax.
