In a long tradition...
... our family business has been involved in the manufacture of candles. The name Hongler appears in the account book of the parish of Berneck as early as 1703. The company chronicle has many stories to tell: of the move to the "Bleichehof" in Altstätten, of delivering the candle boxes by handcart, of several fires - of good times and bad. Today, the specialised trade, restaurants and private individuals also find a wide range of candles. We work in a dedicated team of 20 employees. We are driven by the joy of candlelight and design. The high quality of our products is very important to us. Our customers appreciate the personalised advice on the phone and the fast delivery service. Many products are also available from stock in our spacious candle shop in Altstätten SG with 400 m2 of exhibition space. We hope that our range will appeal to you and would like to continue to be there for you in the future in all matters relating to candles.

Joh. Hongler's secret pop-up bar
As part of the "Lichtblicke" weekend 2017, Astrid Dörig and her team from Bar Breite took us back in time. Joh. Hongler personally welcomed the guests who had travelled here by horse-drawn carriage. Those who were able to solve the riddle of the secret password were transported to their "secret hideaway" in the old goods lift. There, Jane and the Sailors and DJane Lindyhopp entertained the guests musically by candlelight.
