Frankincense packs
Gum olibanum is the main ingredient in most frankincense blends. This resin is extracted in the countries of East Africa and southern Arabia. All attempts to plant the precious frankincense trees elsewhere have failed. The heart of the frankincense route lies in what is now Oman, on the southern edge of the Arabian Peninsula. When the hot weather sets in in April, the bark of the trees is cut so that the resin can ooze out. After a week, the dried resin tears are collected.
